Beat Static Hair!

November 26, 2013 · Posted in: Beauty, Blog, Inspiration, Stylists Picks

With winter just about here, things are getting colder and dryer. The dry, cold air can cause hair to become statically-charged. Hats, scarves, and blow dryers often result in static. Below are a few tips for beating static hair this winter.

A Deep-Conditioning Treatment. If you don’t already receive a deep-conditioning treatment, now might be a good time to start. The treatment adds moisture to your hair, which helps to stop the static.

Humidifiers. Adding moisture to the air with a humidifier will help to reduce static in your hair, skin and clothes.

Don’t Wash Your Hair Everyday. Those oils in your hair help to keep your hair healthy. They also keep it from drying out, resulting in less static.

Avoid plastic combs. Plastic will add static. Use a metal comb instead.

Water. If your hair is super staticky and you’re in a rush, use a little water to tame it!

Use an Ionic Blow Dryer. Ionic dryers break down the water molecules instead of evaporating them, so they don’t remove the moisture from your hair.
