Going from a short hair cut to a longer style can be tricky. For one, it takes a while. You also have to deal with the often-awkward middle stage where your hair doesn’t ever seem to do what you want it to. If you’re trying to grow your hair out, here are some tips to help make the process a little quicker and healthier.
Regular trims will help to make sure your hair still looks good while you’re growing it out. Stop in to see your XEX hair stylist every 4-6 weeks to help keep your layers looking good. Once you’ve passed the awkward stage, you can wait 6-8 weeks for a trim.
Drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated. Dry hair doesn’t grow as fast as healthy, hydrated hair.
Try to give yourself a scalp massage every day. You can massage your scalp while you’re in the shower or right after you’ve gotten out of the shower. Scalp massages stimulate blood circulation in your scalp and encourage healthy hair growth.
Try not to wash your hair every day. The natural oils in your hair are good for hair growth.
Be gentle when you’re drying and styling your hair. Rough towel drying or hot blow drying can damage your hair. Damaged hair doesn’t grow as well as healthy hair.
Use a deep conditioning treatment once a week if possible. Deep conditioners are great for keeping your hair healthy and encouraging growth.
