5 Beauty Resolutions You Can Actually Keep!

December 31, 2014 · Posted in: Beauty, Blog, Hair, Inspiration

As we say goodbye to 2014, many of us decide to make resolutions for the new year. How often have you made a resolution on New Year’s Day that has fallen by the wayside a week later?

Here are a handful of beauty resolutions that we think aren’t too hard to keep. They’re pretty simple things you can do to help yourself look and feel better this year.

Relax

Chicago living is fast-paced living. From your commute to meetings to nightlife, time can fly by. Try to spend at least a few hours each week completely relaxing. Drink a cup of tea on your porch or balcony. Take your dog to Montrose Beach. Detach yourself from your phone, computer and work for a few hours. You’ll find yourself recharged and feeling fresh.

Eat Better

We don’t mean you have to go on an extreme diet or cut all of the fun foods from your life. Just pack a salad for lunch or choose fish from the restaurant menu instead of a steak. Cutting back on unhealthy foods will give you more energy and will help you focus better at work. You’re body will thank you for it and it’ll show.

Wash Your Face Every Night

Even if you don’t wear a lot of make up, forgetting to wash your face can really effect your complexion. If you don’t have big plans for the night, wash your face when you get home so you don’t have to worry about it when you’re half awake later in the night.

Give Braids a Try

Braids are really popular right now. And they’re really easy to wear too. If you’re going out for a fun night with friends, give braids a shot!

Help Others Once A Week

Helping others brings a lot of personal joy and fulfillment as well. Donate to a worthy cause or just help a friend move into a new apartment. Don’t forget, XEX donates $1 from each hair service each Wednesday to Feeding America. Book your appointment for a Wednesday for an easy way to help those in need!

Thank you for making 2014 such a great year for XEX. We look forward to seeing you again in 2015!
