After some time, you may find small quantities of your natural hair trapped in the bonds. This is very normal. Your XEX extensions specialist can cut the ends to minimize tangling near the bonds.
Stand your head up straight and gently wet your hair with lukewarm water. Apply the shampoo and gently lather. Do not rug the extensions. Let your fingers gently run through the extensions from top to bottom. Rinse and apply conditioner. Leave the conditioner in your hair for five minutes so it can penetrate the extensions.
Squeeze out the excess water, then pat dry with a towel. Do not rub or twist your hair.
Add the Moroccanoil treatment to dry or damp hair. You can blow dry extensions just like your natural hair.
You can use a flat iron or curling iron with your extensions, just be sure not to get the heat near the bonds. Keep them at least an inch away from the bonds.
Regular trims are important, as your extensions will get split ends just like your natural hair.
You can color extensions just like your natural hair. We highly recommend that you have one of XEX’s color specialists complete the color. Incorrect color application or the use of bleach can ruin your extensions.
It is important that your hair is completely dry and in a low ponytail when you go to bed.
Brush your hair twice a day using the extensions brush recommended by XEX’s extensions specialist. Use soft brush strokes. Separate the extensions strands with your fingers, then slowly brush close to the scalp. Do not use a hard bristled brush, as it may cause your extensions to come out. If need be, use a wide toothed comb to detangle. Do not use the comb near the scalp or bonds to avoid damaging the extensions.
Fusion, micro bead and tape-in extensions should be removed by XEX’s extensions specialist. Click here for more information about hair extension removal.
You may notice a large amount of natural hair coming out during removal. Don’t worry! This is normal. People lose an average of 100 strands of hair per day. Your extensions can block that hair from falling out, so when the extensions are removed we often see a lot of the hair that would have gradually been lost coming out at once. This is completely normal.
